Get Smart Committee Showcase
The 2010 Get Smart committee was a group of talented volunteers who dedicated several months to the success of Get Smart. From conference promotion to venue negotiations, from coordinating day-of volunteer activities to running the registration table and more – these behind-the-scenes powerhouses made it all happen! Take a look at their profiles below:
Tiffany Clemons
Tiffany Clemons recently graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in English and an emphasis in Technical and Professional Communication. She moved to Austin in July of 2009 and absolutely loves it! Other than seeking new career opportunities, she enjoys the outdoors, reading, and enjoying Austin's live music scene. She also enjoys volunteering with AWC Austin, considering this activity the perfect creative outlet during her free time. Tiffany considers herself as the ultimate “go-to” girl. She believes that if something needs to be done, done right, and done right now, she is the one to do it! She would love to be involved with the communications industry and is currently in the job market.
Mary Carol Coffman
For the past 10 years, Mary Carol Coffman has provided former employers and clients with part-time freelance public relations services and volunteered for several nonprofits—some in a leadership capacity, in an effort to better balance work and family life. For the 12 years prior, she managed and contributed to PR efforts at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, EDS (now part of Hewlett-Packard), Temple University Health Sciences Center, and Greenhill School in Dallas. In Austin, she’s served on the community advisory board for Texas Scottish Rite Learning Center and volunteers with CASA of Travis County.
