    Freelance Austin

    Freelance AustinFounded in 1995, Freelance Austin is a program of AWC Austin and provides a casual professional forum dedicated to building a local freelance community. At Freelance Austin, freelance writers, graphics designers and other independent communicators can meet, share information and leads, improve communication, business, and self-promotion skills and form bonds of support and camaraderie.

    Requirements for membership are: 

    • active attendance and participation 
    • an attitude of camaraderie, rather than competition

    Members of AWC enjoy free membership in Freelance Austin. Most meetings are open discussions with an opportunity for attendees to give their "30-second self promotion pitch." Meetings regularly have a theme, a speaker or other special presentation. Past meetings have offered topics ranging from sales tax issues to self-promotion techniques.
